The Senior Management has been dramatically shaken up and a number of Senior personnel have left. It wouldn't be difficult to make serious inroads if you had big enough cojones to take it on. Without having knowledge of where most of the costs go and the headcount in each department I can't say, but the current budget is unsustainable, the current model unfit for purpose and the current leadership negligent in their duties. I agree that with such a small population, its unreasonable to think that we can afford such a lot of different departments and expertise without having a cost factor, but the problem being Lxxx, what department would you/should they get rid of? On a small island like this personal responsibility plays a big part, we don't have billions to throw at a failed model like across.

You and others may be in a similar predicament but if no-one complains by using these forms, then its another easy decision and someone's error or other cause gets away scot free.Īs a bean counter if he can strip a lot of the obscene costs out of health and leave us with a much slimmed down and efficient service he'll be on the right lines. If the forms are not doing what they're supposed to do, then this needs to be addressed.Įvery person will have a different dilemma (I did) and it was eventually resolved although I wasn't particularly happy with the speed and initial closed shop attitude at that time. If you know of such an individual and of what they do or don't do during the week and who you feel isn't doing anything purposeful to assist the hospital, please feel free to say so. If front line medical staff are struggling, the answer is to get rid of bureaucracy and layers of worthless self-serving management which gets in their way.
